2006 Female Prospects - Coaching announcement
2019-04-11The 2006 Female Prospects are pleased to announce the addition of former Canadian Olympian Fiona Smith-Bell to the coaching staff.
Fiona will be joining us at tournaments and the majority of practice sessions. We are excited about the opportunity this presents for our prospect players, as she shares her vast knowledge and experience with them, and helps them with their hockey journey.
Fiona was a member of the Canadian National Women’s Hockey Team from 1994-2002 winning 7 international Gold Medals including 2 World Championships in 1997&1999 and an Olympic Silver in 1998. She captained Team Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games in 1991.
Her multi-sports background and experience is vast having played at 13 National Championships with Saskatchewan and Alberta, winning bronze at the National Fastball Championships and Gold at Western Canadian fastball championships. She has extensive coaching and development experience with both female and male athletes from grassroots to international levels. This includes being an athlete mentor for Team Germany U-18 and a skills coach at the Hockey Canada U-18 development camps.
Fiona recently moved to Fall River from Saskatchewan with her husband and two boys Kian & Jaxon.
